• Introduced first time in Tamil Nadu following facilities – Endo Ultrasonography, High Resolution G.I. Manometry, Balloon Enteroscopy, Spy Glass Cholangio Pancreatoscopy, Laser Lithotripsy & Techniques – Banding for Varices, Glue for Fundal varices, Self-Expanding Metallic Stenting, Advanced Endotherapy & Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM)
• Has performed over 23,500 complex Therapeutic Endoscopy procedures and Created 14 Teaching CD ROMs in GI Endoscopy, first of its kind in India.
• Founded Medical Academy and has organized 28 International, 27 National, 33 Regional conferences and 200 city weekly GE meetings.
• Has delivered 40 prestigious Orations and over 561 invitational lectures in National and International forums.

MEDICO SOCIAL RELIEF WORK :

• Founding MedIndia Charitable Trust, he has organized 38 innovative, first of its kind projects, through 115 Free Medical Camps, for the differently abled school students.
• Instituted a Toll Free Digestive diseases Helpline No. 12789, first of its kind in India.
• Conducted 32 Public awareness Health Exhibitions.

• Conceptualized & Distributed ‘Braille chart on Hygiene Tips’ to blind school students of entire Tamil Nadu, First of its kind in India.
• Conceptualized & launched ‘Braille chart on Covid-19 Hygiene, First of its kind in India.
• Carried out innovative project on IQ Assessment & Career Counselling for disabled +2 school students to mitigate the short comings of the under privileged, a first its kind in India.
• Created a multi lingual preventive Covid-19 Hygiene related App (Med-Hap) First of its kind (2020), with notification reminders and Selfie uploading facility.
• Initiated QR Coded Digital Health Card (Emergency Medical Care Card) (emc²), is a novel idea which has been implemented to safe guard the card holder in case of medical emergency while travelling alone, to enable commencement of zero-hour medical treatment protocol during accident and other medical emergencies.
• Nutritional Assessment for rectification of deficiencies of Iron, Calcium, Proteins and Lipids of Differently Abled school students of Tamil Nadu.

AWARDS & RECOGNITIONS (Highlights) :

• Conferred Padma Shri Award in Medicine - Gastroenterology, by the Government of India in 2016.
• Awarded Master of World Gastroenterology Organization (MWGO), the highest capstone career award in Gastroenterology (2019). (Third Indian Gastroenterologist to receive this award).
• International Service (Crystal) Award, by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), 2022
• International Leadership Award, by the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), 2022
• Honoured with the Community Service Award by the American College of Gastroenterology, (2019). (First Indian and Non – American Gastroenterologist to receive this award).
