(A) Program Premise
For subscribing to the Vision of a ‘Garbage Free India’, as a ‘swachhanjali’ to Mahatma Gandhi Ji, under the Call to Action of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Padma Shri Awardee Prof. Dr. T.S. Chandrasekar, Chairman & Chief Interventional Gastroenterologist, MedIndia Hospitals and Founder & Managing Trustee of MedIndia Charitable Trust, Chennai organized a Shramdaan for swachhata for 1 hour (cleanliness drive) at 10.00AM on 1st October, 2023.
(B) Callto Actionby Hon’ble Prime Minister of India
Under the Call to Action of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi Ji and the directions of Joint Secretary and National Mission Director, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of lndia, Dr. T.S. Chandrasekar organized Shramdaan for Swachhata on 1st October at 10.00 AM, with the vision of a ‘Garbage Free India’.as a ‘swachhanjali’ to Mahatma Gandhi Ji, on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi.
(C) Shramdaan for Swachhata Events
In this regard Dr. Chandrasekar has organized three events as part of the Shramdaan for swachhata for 1 hour (cleanliness drive), at the following locations,
(1) MedIndia Hospitals, Valluvarkottam High Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai – 600034 and
(2) Gandhi Memorial Museum, Collector Office Road, Alwarpuram, Madurai – 625020
(3) Near Kamaraj Salai in the vicinity of Raj Bala Kalyan Mahal, Madurai – 625009
As part of the cleanliness drive employees of MedIndia Hospitals, Chennai created awareness among the public in the vicinity of the hospital location and distributed Information Cards containing Health & Hygiene Tips in English & Tamil.
This initiative was also carried out in the world famous Gandhi Memorial Museum at Madurai, as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhiji’s focus and commitment to cleanliness and personal hygiene and also near Raj Bala Kalyan Mahal, Madurai.
